Drama Club is Like a Family
By Kara Krekorian
“Drama is like a family to me,” is how Connor Meehan, the bullfrog in the play Honk Jr., put it. When I went to see the play, I had no idea what to expect and I was really impressed at how amazing it was in every possible way.
Ugly, played by Gina Venuti, was the lead character in the play. Her performance was wonderful. Top performances were also displayed by Rachel Manjoney playing Ida, Emily Lin playing Cat, Drew Rooks playing Drake, Madelyn Brouillard playing Grace, and Connor Meehan playing Bullfrog.
The musical numbers were fantastic, especially a song called “Warts and All”, sung by the Bullfrog and Froglets. There were many more fabulous musical numbers throughout the play all sung by a cast with amazing voices. They sounded like professional singers!
The incredible teachers responsible for the success of the production were Director, Ms. Levesque, Assistant Director, Ms. Murphy, and Musical Director, Mr. Mercer. All the directors made enormous contributions to the show, but there was also the incredible acting coach, Mr. Sapienza, who graciously guided the talented cast.
